How to install MTC-Vodafone eGO (Huawei E220) device on Windows Vista

Note: You may risk damaging your device permanently if you do not follow the instructions as stated below.

1. Make sure your laptop is fully charged/plugged to power source BEFORE continuing to the next step.
2. DO NOT remove the USB device while installing the updates.
   
3. Plug in your USB eGO device (Huawei E220) on to your PC.
4. Download and install this update. This would update your eGO device to allow Vista to update the firmware. (run Datacard update.exe and click patch, wait for more instructions)
5. Its time to update the firmware of the device, this allows Vista to recognize it. Download this and follow the instructions.
6. Now you have to update the software to the latest version to fix some bugs and enable SMS/PIN support. Download this and follow the instructions.
7. After installing, you have to manually edit the settings to work with your mobile operator. For MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain) users, Goto Settings-->APN, then select manual and enter "hsdpa" for all three APN, UserId, and Password. Save the settings, and connect.
