My son is on his way from Germany to Thailand a couple of hours in Bahrain on 3rd December. He wants to buy a Canon HDV-Camcorder XH A1. Who can help me and can give me informations about the pricw in Bahrain? Is there a chance to get it at the Airport Duty Free?

I called the local Canon store in Bahrain and it appears that they do not have the camera. I am not sure if the camera is available in Bahrain Duty Free, but if it is, then the price should be competitive. I asked the local Canon store for the cameras, and I was told that those below are the ones available listed next to it is their last discounted price. The store is located in Seef Mall, less than 20 minutes away from the Airport.

Canon MD160 - 184.500 BHD ~ 332 EUR.
Canon MV920 - 129 BHD ~ 232 EUR.
Canon HV20 - 469 BHD ~ 845 EUR.
Canon DC50 - 375.5 BHD ~ 676 EUR.
Canon DC220 - 199BHD ~ 358 EUR.

The prices are nearly the same in Germany even incl. VAT - so it makes no sense to buy it in Bahrain.
But I think my son will enjoy the stop without shopping.
